Sales Account Manager [China]


 

Job Summary


Reporting to the Sales Director – Mission, Asia Pacific, the Sales Account Manager, will have responsibility for sales deliverables while maximising revenue and margin potential on existing accounts and identifying new customer opportunities in China.

You will utilise your sales, technical, relationship and organisational skills to improve NOV Mission’s performance by fulfilling customer requirements and enabling them to improve their performance so both businesses can achieve and surpass their respective performance targets.

As the Sales Account Manager, you will continually develop, improve and communicate action plans internally and externally to customers to surpass customer expectations and secure NOV as their preferred supplier and partner, consequently improving market share.

Key to this role will be your ability to sell Mission products to drilling contractors, shipyards, equipment manufacturers & resellers. You will act as the customer's voice to all internal stakeholders, communicate qualified sales opportunities and agree on achievable delivery dates in alignment with NOV’s capacity and the customer's expectation.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILTY & AUTHORITY:


  • Responsible for managing, building, and growing relationships with influencers and decision-makers within China
  • Act as the primary point of contact between NOV Mission and customers; understand customer needs and how NOV Mission can add value to their operations.
  • Represent and promote all NOV Rig Technology – Mission within China
  • Negotiate commercial terms within NOV’s policies and guidance from management.
  • Make direct sales contacts and pursue opportunities; create and present presentations, coordinating to involve appropriate resources, where needed.
  • Gain insight into customer and market needs and wants and communicate them internally.
  • Contribute data to the Annual Financial Plan/Quarterly Sales Forecast and continually focus on meeting booking requirements.
  • Gain knowledge on competitor activities, market offerings and efforts – document and communicate the information accurately to internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with internal support team, subject matter experts and operations team.
  • Monitor and communicate the status of all orders to the customer; ensure customers account is current, and assist AR with any past due accounts.
  • Maintain sales prospects and quotations pipeline and close those opportunities.
  • Develop and submit sales activity and market intelligence reports as needed for management.
  • Travel domestically and regionally to customer and company locations as required.

BEHAVIORAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED


  • A bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field or relevant industry experience.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the upstream oil and gas sector. Preference will be given to applicants with relevant experience with an OEM or drilling contractor or who otherwise possess demonstrable knowledge of the drilling business/equipment in China.
  • Knowledge of drilling consumables. Pumps, valves and pipe handling is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability and track record of developing business to business relationships and relevant industry relationships are desired.
  • Strong technical and commercial background required.
  • Displays the ability to maintain complex and fluid client relationships & projects and the ability to work in a fast pace environment.
  • A proven track record of being self-motivated and possessing sound decision making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluent in English, Mandarin is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Teams, etc.)
  • Comply with all company QHSE policies and adhere to the company Code of Conduct.
